Guilty of fabric buying
Jan. 3rd, 2006 11:32 amI just bought a couple of curtains from Tradera, a swedish auction site. This is how the fabric looks. It's this piece and two pieces that are 50 x 115 and 50 x 300 cm. I think that I could even get a whole dress out of it, but I was more thinking along the lines of a forepart and a pair of gigantic "hummer claw" tudor sleeves.
Not that I make any progress on my tudor dress or even feel like working on it, but I guess that will change. I'm more interested in mundane clothes for the moment, I actually made two skirts the last two days, I just need to put in a zipper in one and elastic in the other one.
And I'm making progress in fixing the chapter.

Date: 2006-01-03 11:12 am (UTC)I've now finished my skirt - finally - and also the skirt for my sister-in-law in the same fabric and same model. Looks very spiff on both of us, if I say so myself, but it was much quicker to do hers on the machine :)

Date: 2006-01-03 11:22 am (UTC)I think I am even happier that I don't have a proper sewing machine now as I can just see myself wasting oodles of yardage making something, anything, up on the machine just because it's so quick to make. "Only ten minutes.."
