I've actually sewn something!
Jan. 8th, 2006 10:59 amWell, I know I've sewn two mundane skirts in so many days, but now I have actually sewn on my Tudor dress. I have dreaded it, because the fabric is a rayon twill that is the slinkiest fabric I've ever worked with except for silk twill which is just the same. That's the reason I'm using it, it looks very much like silk twill which I have worked with before.
But I have made the bodice except for the plastron and that was the hardest part, the slinkiness of the fabric won't that much of a problem when I sew the skirt.
Today is devoted to going through our storage area and find larger winter clothes for Maja, my old black tulle skirt and some other stuff. Since the room is packed high with boxes, pavilion, wooden chests etc it will probably take most of the day. But I will try to cut and zig-zag the skirt too.
