frualeydisI feel slightly better tonight. Still, it was a wise choice not to go anywhere. I am still not up to trying on the empire stays, but I have cut a c. 1800 shift from some fine linen. I thought about cotton, but the preserved ones I've seen were all in linen. Only reasonable since cotton was an expensive fashion fabric and linen wasn't. Linen is nicer anyway. So now I will sit down with my beloved linen thread and wax and start on the shift. There is football on TV and I have made tea already.
