Presents VII - wheee!!

One of the most gorgeous, extravagant presents after my disputation I got from myralea. In this post she writes about real gold thread she had bought. Well, I got some of it!! Both 5000 m of good quality fake (you can see the spools on the lower left picture) and some (quite a lot) of the real stuff! I mean, real gold thread!! This is such a lift for Rickard's silk tunicella (which I haven't worked on for months). Now all will be real: real silk twill, fresh water pearls, a silk tablet woven band and real gold thread (the original has small gold tubes, but this is an inspired product, not an exact copy). Now I just need to get the motivation to start working on the embroidered cuffs.

am happy you liked it! i am sure sten kauppi is content in his heaven, knowing all the gold will be used for pretty things, by people really loving it. when i got all the thread i immedeately thought: well, now i know for sure what i will give eva as a disputation present:)

and i too thought of the tunic to rickard!
i'm planning to start with finishing off my embroidered swabian dress with some of the gold...
and i think at least the smaller spool of the thinner fake gold might be excellent for tablet weaving. the box was labelled weaving gold.
