A daring expedition
Nov. 22nd, 2006 09:02 amSince I managed to walk twice to the shop (approx. 100 metres) and to Anna (maybe 500 metres) yesterday without any bad effects later I am going to walk to the university later today. I have books to return and books to pick up at the university library. And I need to meet some people!
The reason for walking ot the shop was to pick up packages that had arrived, our local shop also houses a post office.
First there was a Sock Dreams package for me, and later in the afternoon a package arrived from a swedish mail order company, with new winter shoes for Valeria and Vendela. Vendela's fit her, but Valeria's were too small so I've returned them. A new pair in the right size will hopefully arrive in the beginning of next week.

M Boot socks. Really comfy and warm, with terry insides. A little loose in the feet, but just the thing to wear when your feet are aching, or in bed. I haven't tried them in boots yet.

O Marled in navy. "O" stands for "over the knees" and indeed they are, they reach at least mid thigh on me. I haven't washed them yet, but still. They're soft and stretchy and only the top threads being a little tight (My thighs are c. 20" where the socks end). They seem to stay up pretty well, they never slid below my knees. I love them and will get more in other colours.
And finally, the not yet available Vertically ink lined stockings:

As you can see they reach over my knee, actually they reach nearly to mid thigh, but they are more comfortable if I don's stretch them so much and cuff them a little. These are a blend of cotton/nylon/spandex and are a little thinner and more stocking like than the cotton socks I usually get. I think they are delightful, however, elegant and unusual.
