Doublet question

frualeydisCan anyone tell me what the purpose is of the lacing tab in the elizabethan man's doublet in The Tudor Tailor (bottom picture, page 96). What is it supposed to be laced together with? The slops are laced to the holes in front and I can't find any information about what the lacing tabs are for.
