My sewing machine is broken. The presser foot pressure is seriously wrong. It started acting up today and I opened it to see what was the trouble. I also called my dad, but either there is some difference between his model of Husqvarna 2000 and mine or we didn't understand each other. Because now it isn't working at all. And since it's a used model it didn't come with an instruction book.
And I felt sad even before and Maja is extremely annoying; asking me to do things she can easily do by herself. And Rickard thinks she should learn to do thigns by herself which means that either I go mad or have to help her every time.

My old machine did that. Never did find out what happened to it. Is using a hand-me-down circa 1960s. I miss my button hole stitch. :( It works great but you only have like 2 stiches.

Well, now I can't use it at all, since it has no pressure on the presser foot. My mum is (probably) coming late tonight and I will ask her about it tomorrow. She had a similar model and maybe she knows what to do.

How old is it? I've got a green 2000 model, from the 1960's, and it has a manual. But they have probably changed the model a lot since then, so if yours is newer I don't think it will help much.

I see they also have service manuals available. I buy lots of old appliances and the internet is getting very good about having that info available...

It's a model 6440 from -73 or -74, and unfortunately they have changed stuff just in that area (judging from my discussion with my dad).

OI OI OI!!!!!!

What a catastrophy! Myself have to call to a repairsperson according two of my sewing machines. The first one was my dads and it refuses to do anything but sew backwards! ( A Huskvarna 2000).

The other one that also is a Huskvarna have an idea of making uneven stitches ( whatever u do with the controls it does the same) it makes one or two even stirches then on that might be 2 cm long then one short etc etc. This occured after my bf sweded our medieval tent on it...:(.


I do have a third Huskvarna also, but it is kind of under all kinds of bags and boxes UNDER a table in our office room. I plan to dig it out to se if that one works better.

I doesnt need them much for making historical clothing though since that I do mostly by hand, but it would be nice to be able to make ones own curtains etc. But I'm thinking of making a few berets from scrap velvet I have and sell at internet auctions and I wont spent time handsewing thoose.

I am trying to spare my hands by not hand sewing all seams on my historical clothing. But since I sew most by hand it isn't a disaster. It is just that I was in the mood to sew some mundane clothing too.
We're going to replace the lambrequin on our pavilion this year and I plan to make an Anglo-Saxon geteld for the twins next year, so I hope the machine is easily fixed. I took it to the shop today and they will have a look at it next week.

I bought a new sewingmachine today at IKEA for 500 kronor. Its 3 years warranty.

Mum needen a new one fast and cheap since her old started to smell like something is burning in it.

The IKEA machine is called Tråckla and it does just a few different stitches. But hand on heart I hardly ever use anything else than ordinary zigzag and the standard straight seam anyways....
