In one week and nine hours we will be leaving for Visby medieval week. Wheee!
Now I just have to find some enthusiasm for the tricky task of choosing what clothes to wear. Since teh theme year is 1288 and I really like my c. 1300 clothing it will probably be the only period I bring along. It would be nice to have something from the 16th century, since Rickard looks so good in his outfit, but I don't know what to bring: I've already worn the Anthonis Mor gown there once and it isn't very summery. Neither are my other 16th century dresses, since most of them are from wool. I don't know how they will fit either, since I'm smaller than when I made most of them. The blue peasant will probably fit well enough, but it's not the same social class as Rickard's clothes. What I would love to do is to make a new dress, but there are other things that are more prioritized; like another pair of socks for Maja and more hangings for the pavilion.
And, late 13th-early 14th century is both beautiful and comfortable, so I'm not really complaining, more engaging in idle wishing.

In any case, travel safe and have a good time. Give my regards to the Handelsgillet clan. =)

Date: 2007-07-27 07:11 am (UTC)I'm so envious of you, going to Visby. Not this year for me, but maybe next year. Depends on the amount of holidays I can save up, and how things coincide with the Craft Camp (I've wanted to go there for years now, so perhaps the 10th anniversary will be the year).
Could I possibly ask you for a small favour while you're over there? Visby is the only place I can get Kränku's Vardesblandning, and if you could send over 100 gram of it, I'd be very grateful. I'll reimburse you in money or goods.
