In one week and nine hours we will be leaving for Visby medieval week. Wheee!

Now I just have to find some enthusiasm for the tricky task of choosing what clothes to wear. Since teh theme year is 1288 and I really like my c. 1300 clothing it will probably be the only period I bring along. It would be nice to have something from the 16th century, since Rickard looks so good in his outfit, but I don't know what to bring: I've already worn the Anthonis Mor gown there once and it isn't very summery. Neither are my other 16th century dresses, since most of them are from wool. I don't know how they will fit either, since I'm smaller than when I made most of them. The blue peasant will probably fit well enough, but it's not the same social class as Rickard's clothes. What I would love to do is to make a new dress, but there are other things that are more prioritized; like another pair of socks for Maja and more hangings for the pavilion.

And, late 13th-early 14th century is both beautiful and comfortable, so I'm not really complaining, more engaging in idle wishing.

You'll look wonderful and be comfy in your 1300s kit, Eva. Don't tax yourself overmuch thinking about what might have been.

But hasn't it been a very cool summer? Might your wool gowns be okay this year?

In any case, travel safe and have a good time. Give my regards to the Handelsgillet clan. =)

Thank you. My next projects are moving at a snail's pace right now, but I have one outfit that needs to be reay the first weekend of October, and that I will start on as soon as I get home from Visby.

I'd say just bring your 1300s stuff. Otherwise you'd just sweat floods, and/or having to fix the fit. Sewing panic is an old Visby tradition, but sometimes you just have to break with tradition, right?

I'm so envious of you, going to Visby. Not this year for me, but maybe next year. Depends on the amount of holidays I can save up, and how things coincide with the Craft Camp (I've wanted to go there for years now, so perhaps the 10th anniversary will be the year).

Could I possibly ask you for a small favour while you're over there? Visby is the only place I can get Kränku's Vardesblandning, and if you could send over 100 gram of it, I'd be very grateful. I'll reimburse you in money or goods.

is that tea?

Anyway, I've never made any clothes just prior to Visby before, so for me it would be a new tradition, but I still don't think I'm going to do it.
