frualeydis: (effigy stays)
[personal profile] frualeydis
I did start on a new 16th century dress. Bodice is drafted, cut, sewn together, trimmed (just a narrow gold cord along the neckline and armscyes, sewn on while watching Elizabeth and chatting with [livejournal.com profile] herzeloyde). I am now working on the lacing holes while watching Grease. The skirt pieces are zig-zagged and tomorrow I will cut a lining from cotton sheets or something, this is a low cost, quick job. Then there's sleeves and stuff, and the skirt will have a strip of heavier fabric both at the bottom and at the waist to make it stand out more. I would love to make one of those really small, silly bonnets too, but I don't know if there will be time.
