Photos of the half-finished Uvdal gown

So, as requested, photos of me in the half-finished Uvdal gown. The centre front seam is not sewn and no seams are felled, except for in the bodice part. No hemming either of course. It is from the side you really see how big it makes me look, but unfortunately LJ won't upload that image.

So, how many metres of fabric did you say it uses? :P

Four. It's not that wide really, it's only like 2,6 metres before pleating.

Well, yes, I could be 9 months pregnant with twins in that thing. I think I could have made it a little tighter and still gotten into it, but it still would have been big. The girl who wore the original was around 17 and I definitely htink this is a style that looks better on a thin person with less difference between boobs and waist.

I actually think it's a fantastic looking gown. (It's based on this, isn't it?)

In the smaller photo, it almost looks like a tunic-dress with a little black bolero-top over it. :)

Yep!
It's great that there is a picture of her drawing online, then I can refer people to it. I made my own drawing based on hers, on a less gothic, more normal body. It can be found here (http://skraddarskraat.nordrike.org/Mastarprov/aleydismaestarprov2.html).

Very pretty. ANd I think one could adapt it to a modern dress/coat and that would look very nice too.
