I was planning to wear this outfit for the first time this weekend. Well, I goddam will! But my boobs will be hanging at my waist. (Since I'm 8 kilos lighter than when I made the dress it has NO breast support even if I let the sides overlap when lacing.) But the dress is too pretty not to be worn, I just hope my back won't complain; at least I will be wearing my effigy stays at the feast. The waist is large too, but okay, mainly because it's at my lowest rib and not at the actual waist. (It is actually at the waist and tummy/hips I've lost most.)
Of course I will take in the side seams and make it smaller later, but I won't have the time for that before the event. I've got two lectures and a small presentation to plan: one for saturday and two for monday.

I love this outfit! Can you take in the side seams somehow to get a better fit?

Yes, I already did that on my folk costume, which is made in much the same way. But I don't have the time before the event.

Oh, I understand now.

Is it possible (and it may not be, considering what kind of time you have) to put in a quick basting stitch... Nah. It won't hold once you cinch up the bodice. Damn...

I'm sure it'll be fine.
