The good thing is that I am now positive that my "wisdom teeth" (I have no idea what they are called in english, anyway, it's teeth that appear very late, like at 35 and very far back in the mouth)is the source of the pain. The bad thing is that it's 2.30 a.m. and I can't sleep because of the pain and that I really don't know where to turn to get them out FAST.

Yes, they are called wisdom teeth. They come in anywhere from late teens to 30's. If they come in at all. Often they are impacted and have to be surgically removed.

I had my wisdom teeth taken out a couple years ago... I can't tell you about it because mercifully, I was knocked out the whole time. ;)

Yah, 3rd molars can be a royal pain in the patoot. Some people handle having them removed quite well (like me - pain? what pain??) others need to be under anesthesia due to anxiety or how severely the teeth are impacted. Mine graciously just popped out.

Mine were all impacted 90 degrees; if I hadn't had an oral surgeon take 'em all out, they would have shoved my teeth terribly out of alignment. Having spent 3 1/2 years of sheer hell being tortured by an orthodontist, I didn't want to feel all that pain go to waste.

Didn't feel a thing while because it was done under general anaesthesia, though I did wake up partially because, erm, the drool coming out of the right corner of my mouth itched. The second time the surgeon put my hand down on the chair, I said to myself, Oh well! It really itches, but I don't care anymore! and went back under. La la la!

I've never had a tooth pulled or a root canal-- so I can truthfully say that my teeth have never really bothered me except for my wisdom teeth. Even then, the only symptom I had was I knew my teeth were all moving again.

Do you have specialist oral surgeons over there? Here the specialty is a different field from just that of dentistry. Seems to me that the amount of pain you're having makes you worthy to get seen quickly. And since you're a nursing mom now, if you do have to go under a general, you're only out for a couple of hours, max, and then the pain medications for afterwards can be tailored specifically to give you relief without messing up your milk.

Ow ow ow. I feel your pain. Or, actually, I felt it a few years ago, which finally convinced me to have the wisdom teeth removed. I hope you can find a way to get them fixed quickly so you can sleep!

Hopefully they'll take the two on the right side of my mouth on wednesday morning (7.10, ouch!). It's done with only local anesthesia and I've heard it hurts like hell when that wear off. But I don't care right now. What I worry about is: What if he doesn't take them out on wednesday and I have to wait? and
What if Maja gets hungry while I'm away?
She usually sleeps three hours in a row in the morning, but one never knows. I haven't pumped out any milk so I will buy some "substitute milk" today that Rickard can use in case of an emergency. And spoon feed her, so she doesn't get confused by us using a bottle. But most likely she will be asleep.
