My dark greyish green velvet 15th century gown now fits me again. Now I just need somewhere to wear it too (and a supportive cotte in wool to wear under it, my old ones are long ago sold). I had forgotten how good it looks on. Unfortunately you can't see it on me, I can't take photos of myself. But I put it on Sophy

It does need ironing too, all at least to hang to get rid of the wrinkles, ironing velvet isn't easy.

That is very pretty! And it looks very mysterious and learned with the matching globe stand in the background.

Oh that it so pretty, and rich with the fur. Very nice.
Thanks for showing

It's a lamp, from the 1920s or 1930s.

Gorgeous! I look forward to see it on you- you will look stunning. What pattern did you use for it?

Not really a pattern. I used my old pattern for a tight late 14th century dress (no darts, just shaping at the side and CF and CB seams) and left out a square piece in the front, in which I sewed a pleated piece of fabric by hand.

It looks quite nice from here. And I too think it would be nice to see you in it. :)
Oh btw, how many hairpins did you use for the hairstyle you wore with your fancy gown at inbördes?

Uhhm, maybe eight or nine. Six u-pins for the bun and a few bobby pins to keep the shorter hair in place. Then I used another two or three for the veil, which [livejournal.com profile] liadethornegge graciously helped me tie around the bun.
