Despite not falling asleep until after 1 am last night I woke up before 7. This of course means that now, at 10.30 pm I am very tired. So tired that I almost accidentally started putting butter on the holey side when grabbing a piece of swedish crisp bread before going to bed. Crisp bread should, as everybody knows, be buttered on the flat side.

I am so grateful you observed what was happening in time to prevent it.

Yes, the flat it the correct side. All else is heresy.

I have heard there was a war in Sweden over the crisp bread matter.

Yes there is, every year in May. My husband is of course too a flattie, you can't marry outside your "faith" ;)

Only if you're a poor peasant who can't afford to fill the holes with all the Good Stuff, or if you're an ignorant foreigner. But living that far up north, I think you qualify as the latter.

Or if you're eating out, when somebody else is paying for the butter!
