Isn't this dress gorgeous? It's from a brand called Ports 1961 and I want to make one like it for next autumn. I'm thinking thin wool, but then I'm almost always thinking thin wool. I have a lovely raspberry red wool crepe that could be used.

Wool crepe drapes so nicely too.

Lovely style of dress, though personally I'd prefer it if the skirt flared from the hips.

Maybe it's just how they have styled her hair, but it looks very Pre-Raphaelite to me.

And that's a good thing!

No, it's the blousing bodice and sleeves too - finally a way to incorporate aesthetic dress in modern fashion.

Reminds me of a dress that a student of mine is working on right now. She's got the "pouter pigeon" blouse higher on the torso, with a high waisted a-line skirt, but it's a similar idea. Very cute, *almost* makes me think I could pull it off, but I'm afraid my boobs are too big, I'm too short and curvy, and the whole thing would look really odd on me. :P

Sigh. If only I were six feet tall and rail thin...

Well, I'm going to try it depsite not being tall and with a 105 cm bust circumference.

I totally think you should try it! The fact that the blouse is blousey all the way from shoulder to waist will help a lot... My student drafted her with a yoke collar, so the fullness starts at the top of the chest and goes to under the bust, which is what I was saying I was skeptical about. Sorry I didn't write that better.

Oh yes, her construction isnot something for a woman with any kind of bust.
