It's from the Visby tournament 1999. It is me in the dark blue 15th century kirtle and the fighter is Roland, who I then (and possibly still) had a sort of schoolgirl's crush on. So you can understand that this was a very important occasion in my life. No matter that the only reason I became his lady was that the one he was going to fight for (and was unhappily in love with for several years) had unexpectedly left and I happened to be there; it was still special. And I was in love with Rickard anyway, this was more like when teenage girls swoons over some pop star. I must have done a good "job" though, because the following years two of his close friends asked me at the Visby tournament.
He's not active in this group anymore, he does more hardcore re-enactment, but it is always nice when we meet. We haven't had contact for a year though and I'm afraid that he's in Afghanistan right now; at least that was the plan. I think of him quite often and ask the goddess to keep him safe.
