How come that every time I try to change a back laced bodice to a front opening one it turns out too small in the bust and too wide in the waist? I realize that sewing it close in the back removed a couple of centimetres, but not seven! It's the "yellow" 16th century dress with black trim I'm talking about.
It is now lying in a corner feeling ashamed (hopefully)of itself and I will start on it again tomorrow: I will take in the waist a little more in the back and then I will have to piece the front; at least it will be covered by the black velvet trim.
