I think I want to eat frumenty with "äpplefläsk" = bacon with onion and apple pieces fried in the bacon grease with a little ground cloves to spice it up. AFAIK "äpplefläsk" is not a medieval dish, but it goes wonderfully with frumenty. And anyway, a variety of frumenty made from barley was eaten well into the last century.
