I didn't get on to the second round at The Bank of Sweden Tercentenary Foundation this year. That's where I got to the second round last year but in the end wasn't prioritized by the board. It show that it has very little to do with the quality of your application and mostly with what the board finds interesting at that time.
On the plus side I don't have rewrite my longer application from last year, on the minus side I didn't get any money and I have to wait until October before I know about the application from the other place.
