Thank God for good music!
May. 2nd, 2008 01:14 pmThank all gods for the Jesus and Mary Chain, for Teeange Fanclub, for New Order, etc, etc - they force me to enjoy life even when I have to read about the First World War, it's really the most depressing topic in the world: all that slaughter, and for what?

The changes may have come about anyway, but they would almost certainly have taken much longer than they did. Was that worth the cost? I didn't pay the price, I'm just reaping the benefits that were bought in blood.
And that was my philosophical moment for the week...

At least on the bright side of that, that war truly did end the concept of total war, at least for now. Nations with nuclear weapons cannot be defeated, they can only be destroyed, taking everything with them.
Of course that assumes only sane, intelligent nations get nukes, not crazy individuals....
Got any other good music to throw on the CD player? I'm getting scared now.
