To my great joy Valeria's gown fit. Now it needs one hook and eye at the waist, I need to bind the sleeves and also to make black under sleeves and a petticoat. The partlet ruffle needs to be starched and shaped as well. This is the inspiration.

That looks fantastic! Have you sewn it all by hand, or have you used sewing machine for the long seams?

A tad gold on her, plus the long sleeves, and she looks spot-on like that portrait. Brava! I love what I see here.

Mostly machine, it's fully lined, so there's actullay very little hand sewing in it; stitching down linings, lacing holes etc. I don't have the time to make it all hand sewn.

Yes, who has? I feel like I can't get anything done when I'm sewing everything by hand. Luckily the machine stitching won't show outside, if one finishes the seams properly.

I was just thinking that you must be a wicked sewer, if you had done all that in just a week :)
