I noticed the pair I tried on were small and I was hoping that was just the design and you wouldn't have to send yours back, but alas, it seems they must all run a bit small.

I was taking a chance too - I'm usually between 39 and 40 so ordering 39 was maybe a bit adventurous. These are actually a size 41 and it is possible that size 40 would have fit better, these are a little large, but not much. I just didn't want to go through the exchange process again so I decided to be on the safe side.
