Here we must make a pilgrimage to a specialty shop for proper marzipan, which we did yesterday. We also bought 'Dominosteine' which are a lebkuchen/marzipan/apricot filled confection all covered with chocolate. My husband didn't know about any such things until he married me, and now finding these goodies is part of our yearly holiday ritual :) Nom nom nom...
I also found for him at the specialty store a limited edition set of Pez dispensers of classic Star Trek charecters in a display box. It was a nerdy moment, but he had to have them as a Christmas present!
Is that physically possible? I have so far resisted the temptation to buy a kg or so. I have, however, made three batches of gingersnap dough, but only baked a few gingersnaps...
Eating more marzipan than you should, isn't that like a seasonal ritual for everyone?:)
(I must get my parents, who live right by the German border, to pick me up some cheapish marzipan and lebkuchen, the local marzipan is sooo expensive!)
There is nothing like immense amounts of marzipan! Yum! Try to bake wheatbuns, then slice them in two and insert like 0,5 cm thick slice of marzipan and eat....noo and ENJOY!!!!
