Yohoo! My name and arms passed
Jan. 10th, 2009 12:38 pmJust like
silverstah my name and arms passed. I am very happy.

I knew that my original arms, which I had in Nordrike, wouldn't pass, so I had to add something. The original were just the flowers and they have a special meaning to me, since they are connected to a goddess I've had a very special contact with. So I didn't want to give them up totally. First I thought about using the white flowers on green some other way, but I couldn't find any way that I liked enough. The other solution was to add something that also was significant for me. First I thought about shears, or a needle, since making costumes is my main reason for being in the SCA and similar groups. But they didn't seem like me, or at least not specific enough - everybody sews. Then it struck me: what is special for me (not only me of course) isn't that I sew, but my research and thus an owl would be the perfect sign. It took me all of five minutes to realize that the owl also had a connection to "my" goddess.
