This is how the coat looks, without buttons and on a too large and wrongly shaped dress dummy.

I'm digging it! And I love that the lining is of (what looks like) a lavender blue fabric, very cool detail.

Very nice. Coat envy, i haz. It needs loads of gold trim though, of course.

There probably won't be any gold trim, since it's made after a preserved riding habit which doesn't have any trim and I plan to make the whole habit later. I'm thinking that a riding habit, whith it's masculine cut and look would be something that would suit a female pirate. Also, it's from 1730-50 and not 17th century which cuts down some on the trim, unless you go for the military look. I think the tricorne will have some gold braid though.

I'd love a coat like that to wear on stage. Or to wear to work or to the pub. Hell, I'd wear a coat like that anywhere.
It looks lovely Eva.

Looking froward to seeign that - I'm impressed by anyone doing men's tailored garments, they're so complicated.

But it's piratey stuff! Piratey stuff must have lots of bling! Of course, you could still save face if you wear a gold lamé sash or something.
