Having spent a few days on the letters issued by the swedish king Gustavus I, I am now moving on to the notebook/diary of his son Erik XIV, the one who got mad and killed three members of the Sture family, which have now become much more famous than in lifetime, due to their preserved clothing (scroll down).

That link is so interesting! I especially love Queen Margareta of Denmark's gown; how is it build exactly? Like, do those dresses have an A shape? Do they have some kind of crinolin under the red fabric?

Paranoia, probably schizofrenic, he suspected that they (and some other noblemen) were plotting against him.

There is a drawing of the garment pieces here (http://www.personal.utulsa.edu/~marc-carlson/cloth/uppsala.html). There was no crinoline or similar garment under it, but cloth of gold is rather stiff so it fell in fairly stiff folds.
