Why is it that when you really have to do something you do everything except that?
I really, really need to work on my article on the consumption of clothes in medieval Sweden and Norway. But do I do that? No, of course not. I check out AIPON, I check the two forums I belong to (one on history, mostly for re-enactors and one for wiccans), I get another cup of tea, I check my e-mail again...
It's like I have some mental blocking against actually doing something. I know what I have to do, I even have a broad disposition, but I can't begin.

I'm working late tonight, I'll stay until six (it's late for me since I'm on 50% sick leave), because a guy at work screwed up a fairly simple thing and I have to wait for him to come back with a paper I should sign. After that I'm going home to cut my red wool 12th century dress. At least that's my plan.
Oops, feeling sick, have to eat something FAST.

know the feeling. I am sitting here trying to write an essay about philosophy. Instead i end up ironing fabrics, eating early dinner. Drinking tea. Reading through my friends list at LJ... annoying.

It's known as avoidance - I'm particularly bad with getting back to projects that I've had to abandon part way through - I seem to do almost anything rather than get back to working on them.

My unfinished sewing projects are taking over!

erhmm... updating my website will happen eventually. I have been lazy on sewing, and the website was made in frontpage, a programme that I don't have anymore. So I am thinking about making a very very simple htmlthing that I can actually manage updating. I have tons of essays and exams right now, so it will take quite a while before somthing happens. So, i thought an LJ would be a good substitute for a website. at least until a real website will be better)
