So now I have a new page with new pictures of some old garb :)
This red gown gown was made in 2001 and I'm very happy that I fit ito it again after my pregnancy, because it really is one of my favourite dresses. I won't be wearing it for a while since it isn't practical for nursing since the corset is back-laced, but at least I know I can wear it.

That's so gorgeous!

I love that dress - and I think the photos of you are wonderful, too! It's nice to see someone actually interacting with the camera. ;)

Would you mind if I 'friend' you? I keep popping back to your journal after stumbling across it sometime anyway...

Lovely dress! I do like doublet styles! May be making one or two (or more) for Kentwell (when we get to hear what the year is!!!!!!).

It was my husband who took the pictures so I guess I was smiling at him.

And you don't even need to use all the 10 yards (depending on the width of the fabric of course). This dress used approximately 4 metres of 150cm wide wool. As I said on the page the skirt is just straight and pleated to a waistband so I cut off around 90 cm, which is what I need for a skirt when I'm wearing hoops and used the rest 85 x 400 cm for the bodice and the hanging sleeves (not yet done). So if your velvet isn't too narrow you might get two dresses out of it.

ooog, - that's nice! You obviously don't have a thing for showing off, cause if I were you, I would have been flashing that thing from the moment I made it.
