Article-mania
Jun. 15th, 2010 12:52 pmYesterday I e-mailed the revised article on 16th century Swedish women's clothing to Costume and today I read through the proposed changes to my article on politics and dress change in Scandinavia around the year 1000, okayed them all and sent it back to the editor of the Swedish anthology it's going to be a part of.
So now I can start on an article for another anthology, one actually related to my current research subject. The preliminary title of the article is something like this (it's in Swedish) "When Mary got a D-cup - changing body ideals at the transition from the medieval to the early modern period." But for this article I actually need to make some new research, not just write about things I've already done ;)
I also finally got my copy of the NESAT X report, which has been delayed for almost three months for some reason.

Date: 2010-06-15 02:11 pm (UTC)The D-cup title is fun.
Makes me think about the time I was teased for having small boobs (wearing victorian dress, and not supposed to have the boobs out on display in that style), when I had the same cup size as the teaser, who was bragging about her D cups. I politely told her I also had a D cup, then she mumbled something about "hidden well". But I don't think everyone understands that if you have a bigger band size the physical cup is also bigger, if the letter stays the same, even though the boobs stick out less in percents.
