Happy New Year, dear friends!

The new year is now half an hour old, but the fireworks are still going on outside. I am heading for bed very soon, hoping that 2011 will be better than 2010.

So many people are complaining that 2010 was a bad year to them, and it feels weird to them, because for me 2010 was a great year.

Anyway, I really hope that 2011 will be better for you.

My health got worse and my daughter's depression also got worse so it has been a rather stressful year for me. Of course there has been a lot of good thintgs too, but I'm hoping for a break in the health department.

Forgive, I am a bit weird. Just because I had a good year, I seem to think the year must have been good for everybody. Which is not logical at all.

Like I said before, I wish you all the best, and to all your loved ones, and especially to your daughter.
I have suffered from depressions for years, and I know how bad it can get. I can only imagine what a depression must do to other people, like the parents of the depressed person. I imagine it must be horrible.
Unfortunately, there is very little you can do about another person's depression. Trying to chear them up often makes things worse.

So I reallyu hope she just grows over it.

I know that you didn't mean it in any bad way. I hope that a) things will get better as she gets older and b) they will find medication that works. Having lived with her dad, from whom she has inherited the depression (lots of mental problems in his family) I know that trying to cheer people up is useless. I am blessed in that I do not generally get depressed myself and have a husband who is the most mentally stable person I know.

I'm glad that you had a good 2010 and hope that your 2011 will get even better - which it ought to, since you're getting married!
