The pink/cream dress is totally finished, including sleeves. No headwear though. Since the sleeves are italian-esque I will tape my hair (if it's possible with this short hair) and do something innovative with a sheer veil or so. I'll figure something out.

Maja's new shoes are finished, they only need to have some grease rubbed into them. they're made after a find from the 13th century and my darling husband has made them. Behind the cut there are some pictures.

Photos this way! )

Oh, and I'm really, really GOOD. Not only am I packing away my sewing machine, since I won't be using it for a while, but I'm actually taking it apart and cleaning it,

It was nerve-wracking, but with a winning goal in the second minute of the stoppage time.
Maja and I had a good time in the sun, except between their second goal and our third.

4-0!

Four-nil, Four-nil, Four-nil...

The only person on my f-list who can even vaguely relate to how it feels seeing your football team (that's soccer, the game played with your feet;)) win with 4-0 is probably [livejournal.com profile] edmndclotworthy, but for the rest of you I can only assure you that it was great! It was an away game so we watched it at the pub and that was nice, though not as nice as seeing it for real of course.

The big girls are looking after Maja for a couple of hours tonight, so that Rickard and I can go to a pub and watch IFK's away game. They are such good girls. And smart, nice and pretty. Just so that you know.

The writing has gone reasonably well. I need to have a complete text that hold together by the end of the week, so that I can give to some selected persons to read and comment. And I may just be able to do that. Despite the wedding on Wednesday and the teacher's day on Thursday.

Damn!!

This is now officially declared as a Really Bad Day. My team lost the swedish cup finals due to a serious mistake by the referee and when I tried on the corset it was waay too big. I have to find some way to take away ten centimetres without making the proportions totally wrong. And I have sewn in the busk and really don't want to change that.

Sport

I've just returned from a football (soccer) game which "my" team won so I'm really, really happy. There might even be a chance they win the whole league. I hardly dare think that, for fear something bad might happen, but they have a chance.
Maja was with us, in a fleece overall and snuggled up in the baby sling under my jacket. She stayed awake surprisingly long and seemed to really enjoy it, even when people shouted or sang really loud.
Tomorrow I have to make a question for the first test for our students this semester and do some general tidying up. I haven't sewn on the tent for almost a week either so it's time to start again.

Finally

a good picture of my folk costume. My web page about the folk costume will be updated as soon as possible. The picture was taken at a friend's wedding reception today and you can see both of us here.
And Sweden took two gold medals today (men's high jump and triple jump) and IFK Goteborg won their game today and are now in third place in the league. All in all a very good day.
Now I'm going to take a bath together with Maja and then I'm off to sleep.

Yesterday was a good day. She had slept well during the night, which meant that I had at least slept six, maybe six and a half hour, when she woke at 6.10 in the morning. Then she was happy and content with lying on a blanket while I had breakfast and then spent the rest of the morning eating with one hour in between meals. At twelve my sister came by and we went on a three hour walk. When we got back Maja wanted to eat constantly until six or so. Then my mother came to visit us and while she entertained Maja I managed to fell and stitch down some seams on Valeria's dress, while watching football.
Today Rickard is free from work (he's working the whole weekend) and if it stops raining we're going to take a walk and buy a new pajama for Maja, in blue and white and with the logo of our favourite football team.
Tonight we're taking her to her first football game, IFK Goteborg (our team)is meeting Trelleborg in the swedish cup. there won't be many people so it's a good game to take babies to. If the stadium is full there is too much noise, way too much.
I hope I can continue on Valeria's dress tomorrow, because I think today will be full with other things.

Derby

My husband is away watching the big derby between the soccer team we support (IFK Goteborg) and another team from our city. I wish I could have gone too, bit I'm way to big and tired to go to football games. So I'm listening to the radio which is old and very unreliable, suddenly the sound disappears and then it comes back.
Oh, I hear the sound of the supports shouting I, F, K and I long to be there.
In the morning I thought Rickard was going to miss the derby to because I had regular and somewhat painful contractions for several hours. But it has calmed down without any other results than loosening some more of the mucus plug.
Well maybe tomorrow. Or tonight if I'm lucky. I wouldn't mind sleeping a whole night before it starts, but I don't think I'll be able to anyway.
And another thing: Does my mother-in-law think that the baby will come sooner if she calls me every day, pestering me with questions? Bleh!

Edit: "My" team just made two goals! The second came 1,5 minutes after the first. Yippie!!
