I'm actually rather impressed by my english knowledge sometimes. Like that I knew the word rennet without looking it up. It's not really a common word and I have no idea where I picked that up.
I'm even more impressed by my ten year old girls who play games on the internet and fill in quizzes en english without trouble. Yesterday I heard them translating the alternatives to their friend who's the same age as them. So they not only have a passive vocabulary with fairly advanced english but an active one too. I can also have simpler conversations with them in english. And they're only ten years old!
It must be all the computer games, they've played adult roleplaying computer games since they were six.

Pirates was the first computer game I ever played, and the only one I ever got hooked on. That was back on a Tandy EX1000--my first computer. I'd be very afraid to get a current version. I'd get hooked on it all over again, I suspect.

Yeah I have a friend who adores Pirates and got readdicted to the new game.
