Cold

It is so cold at work that my joints really hurt. Everybody complains about it being too cold but at least they just get cold, not a lot of pain from it. I'm going to look for mittens with half fingers so that I can wear mittens while typing.
I'm trying to get back into writing, but I get very easily distracted and I'm spoilt by being at home, because I just want to go home and sew.

No way to heat the room better? I suffer from the joints too at winter - which is why I brought a small electric heater to the office. It helps some.

I get cold easily too and it seems like I'm always cold at work. My joints don't *hurt*, but they certainly stiffen up and it gets hard to type. Some of the things that I do include keeping a blanket to put on my lap over my legs (stopping losing heat anywhere seems to help), drinking warm water/tea, and when they're really cold, I sit on my hands one at a time (so I can type one-handed with the other) for a few minutes to warm them up. :)

Instead of fingerless mitten, you might have better luck with silk glove liners; they're thin enough that you could probably type with them on and I think they'd keep your fingers warmer. (I never found fingerless gloves very effective, personally.

Good idea, any excuse to wear silk is good :)

Yes, I love silk long underwear! That also helps get me through the winter (and without feeling like I'm wearing a suit of armor).

Alright, then don't knit. ;)
I have some knitting magazines from the 40's too, but I'd love to get some copies from yours I'm sure!
Next visit to GBG...
