I am considering moving my Swedish blog away from the Swedish domain blogg.se. I also want to change the name and stated purpose of it. It started out as a fashion blog, but has been years since I actually wrote anything about contemporary fashion, now it's mostly about what I've sewn and what I wear, sometimes about music (and today about an antisemitic editorial in the official paper of the christian social democrats in Sweden, but that's an exception).
So I plan to make it more into a vintage inspired sewing blog, but with other things too, like it is today. But where to move it? A couple of years ago it was wordpress, but today it seems like other places are more popular and I'd really like not having to move again and to be able to connect to other bloggers on the 'net.

Live Journal will still be the place where I write about sewing and historical fashion and also more private things, but I like to have something in Swedish too.

A more light version, but very user friendly is Tumblr. It reminds of Twitter, except with a lot more pictures and words. Examples:

http://myvintagevogue.tumblr.com/

http://tuula.tumblr.com/

http://calivintage.tumblr.com/

It's ridiculously easy to use and to connect with others, but the downside is that it's harder for non-tumblr users to leave comments. It's also a bit too easy to "retweet" full entries. So I guess it depends on what you want from a blog, and the level of privacy.

I think I may write too much for tumblr. Or at least want people to be able to comment easily.

I'm a big fan of google's blogger. It is easy to use, pretty customizeable, and there's a great community of sewing/vintage/retro lifestyle bloggers there already.

I've been trying to figure out the difference between blogger and blogspot, but maybe here isn't one.

I can give you an invite for Dreamwidth if you like. It's an ad-free LJ fork, so you would be familiar with most of the practical stuff.

I've started a little with blogger now, but I need to figure out if you can import older stuff from my other blog to it.
