Berry red habotai silk from denverfabrics.com. Cheap but still real silk. Ther eis a swedish 14th century will that mentions a blue (mans) hood lined with red silk so the color combination is documented.
If you want some documentation of using the liripipe to tie around the head to keep the hood on if unbuttoned, I put up a picture from Roskilde cathedral in the Yahoo group Authentic_SCA (either in files or photo folders).
lovely hood eva! silk lining sounds very cosy. maybe one should give the 13-14th C a try again? actually i've never made myself a decent hood, probably is time i did...
