When I saw the owls sweater by Kate Davies I  knew that I had to make it and now I have. It's really, really warm, so now when it's a few degrees above zero (ca 37 F) it really works best without a coat. I think it will be excellent for ice skating, when I prefer not to have a heavy coat. Not that I know if there'll be any ice skatingfor me this winter, my ankles hurts so much that I actually ordered a pair of crutches yesterday. That way I won't have to contact a doctor everytime I need to let my ankles rest. But I love how it looks, my owls sweater. My neighbour/friend Anna and I redesigned the actual sweater, since I was using thinner yarn and needles than the pattern called for, and kept the owls part from the original. That way I could get a more vintage appropraite shape, with a tight fit and it ending at the waist. I also made short rows to make it fit over the bust. The yarn is 100 % wool and I bought it very cheaply at a low-cost chain store where I live and it took about a week to make.

But now my hands hurt, so I won't knit more for a while. Instead I'm going to start, some day when I feel better, on a dress for my cousin's wedding on New Years Eve.

Thank you! I've just started to learn how to knit better. Anna is the really talented one, since she can do the maths to make knitting patterns.

Ok, I didn't "get" owls on a sweater at first, but those are pretty cute. :-) Great job!

I absolutely adore it! I miss my ability to do craft more than ever now, that is not something you can buy.
And you look adorable in it as well, a very perky outfit, perfect for ice skating or looking pretty at a winter gathering. Outdoors I imagine, since it really looks warm. :)

Lovely. I've beenwanting to knit this forever, but whenever I start knitting a sweater, i also start losing, or gaining weight, and It never fits me when it's done. Though now i am struck with sweater-envy
