frualeydisThis afternoon our minister of foreign affairs was attacked with a knife while shopping in central Stockholm. This is now six hours ago and she's still in surgery with severe damage to the liver among other things.
To those of us in Sweden who are old enough it brings back memories of the murder of prime minister Olof Palme in 1986, a trauma that never quite healed, the killer hasn't been found either. I don't know if I want to stay up all night and wait for news or sleep, since I can't do anything about it.
I don't always agree with our government's politics and Anna Lindh's (her name) views, but in general she is a good person who means well. She used to be very engaged in environmental issues, which is good in my opinion, I used to be very active in the environmental movement as well some ten years ago.
I wonder why somebody tried to kill her. I hope it was a madman, but on the other hand she's had some heavy criticism on the Israeli politics and violence against the palestinians lately and that might be what caused the attack.
I don't want the world to be like this.
On the private side I've totally given up on the sack dress, I don't even know if I will be well enough to go to the party. I visited a friend who's going to have her baby any day now today and I realized that walking 3-400 meters was really hard for me now.
Bleh!
Tomorrow is full moon, I think I should ask for some energy.
