I guess you've wondered where I'ev been for two months. Well, first I continued getting worse from my arthritits and frankly I didn't have the energy to do anything except it on the couch and watch tv-seris on Netflix. I did those things i had to do and tried to survive the ever increasing pain.
Then four weeks ago, on the 19th of Novemeber, I had such horrible pain from my stomach/chest area that I called 911, fearing for example a heart attack. But it wasn't, instead there was a hole in my duodenum and stomach and stomach acid and other stomach content leaked out in the belly. I was operated on in the middle of the night and it was rather complicated since there was so much inflammation. Due to the inflammation it was hard to sew the hole, so for to weeks my stomach content was pumped away to give the intestines time to heal. When I got better my white blood cell count was really really low and I also kept getting temperatures which I really shouldn't have. So I was isolated to my room, the only visitor alowed my husband. This has been rather tough mentally, not seeing people for mor ethan maybe two hours a day and also beign afraid and in pain. Now y immune system seem to be getting better though, so unless something weird shows up on tomorrow's tests I will be allowed to go home tomorrow.

It will be...interesting... to see what they can do for my arthritis now, since he reason I ended up here in the first place was NSAIDS and prednisolone, which both are forbidden for me now, since, as one of the doctors said: Next time we may not be able to save you. I'm not taking any chances.

:( ANother thing people don't think about: the long term impact of any medication. They may stop working after a few years or they may wind up being eliminated due to side effects: and those side effects can be deadly!

I'm so sorry :( I haven't been seeing your updates on facebook, a few Swedish language ones but I didn't translate them :(

Are you still able to take and getting relief from tramadol? I hope you are (i'm the opposite- NSAIDs aren't doing damage but opiates have- to the point of probably surgery but not endangering like you! Except our joint "surgery is very bad not good!" way.

I'm glad you can handle NSAIDs. I hope that now that they've seen what NSAIDs can do to me they will let me try somethign more modern than a MTX, which doesn't help and gives me really bad side effects, and a combination of NSAIDs and paracetamol. But you know how they don't want to because it's expensive.
