I have now made 32 lacing holes. It also turned out the total sum is 76, not 80, so I only need to make another 44. I had planned to sew during my lunch break today, but I forgot my needle! The corset piece is here, all nicely pinned together, but I have no needle.

Doh! That is so annoying. Gearing all up to sew, having everything there ... everything except the thread, or needle. Very annoying. I am dreading the eyelets on my current project already. I think there will be about 40 or so, so not your staggering 80, but still.

It goes rather fast really, I now have only 20 left and those will probably get done tomorrow. then finally I can test the bliaut and see how it fits.

Well, no surprise you would be much faster than me at making an eyelet. Agnes who starts at the same time will be starting her fourth by the time I get that first one finished. You will have had much more practice than me. But that's good.

Question, what thread do you use for them?

Buttonhole silk. Sometimes on wool and linen I use waxed linen thread, but mostly silk.
