In half an hour a woman from the swedish national radio will come here and do an interview on the history of neck ties. Not that I'm an expert or even knew more than the basics before I looked it up in some books yesterday. But she interviewed me on beards in history last year and apparently it was a success so she called me again. I hope it goes well, but I'm really not that good at men's modern (as in after the early 19th century) fashion. I think I know enough though and I enjoy doing radio. It will probably be more about the predecessors of the modern tie than about the actual tie, but I don't think that will be a problem.

Edit: For swedes: The interview will be in the show "Krister" on next thursday, probably in the second hour, between 3 and 4.

So, you're becoming a local radio-celebrity.... perhaps you'll get a semi-regular costume-history slot...?

That would be wonderful, but this is an entertainment show directed mainly at young people. If I could get into the "serious" national channel that doesn't play music and has programmes on history, politics etc, that would be somthing. But of course many more listen to P3, where "Krister" is.

How'd it go? How'd it go? Inquiring minds want to know.

It went really well. I talked about the things I knew and sounded confident even when my knowledge was a little shaky, like the fashion changes in ties during the 20th century. That's the key; sounding confident.
