Well, first of all: I am way too fat, just below 100 kilos. And just plain strength of character doesn't seem to work anymore, mostly because I'm in so much pain that I need that strength of character just to exist and to work. I have, however, been invited to a research project where they study the effect of weight loss on people with Psoriatic arthritis, so from topday and 12 weeks onward I am going to live on the Cambridge diet shakes.
It's a bit hard to start when the house is filled with home made goodies for Yule, but on the other hand you usually don't want to eat anything ever again after a few days of Yule gluttony ;)

I hope they get lots of interesting and useful results from the study. I hope that you also wind up personally satisfied with your own results doing this.

Yeah, I hop ethat too. I mean, even if I don't lose weight permanently, and even if I personally don't get any better in my arthritis, it's still a really interesting research project.

But, as I suspected, I have to be very careful with black tea, since I feel queasy if i drink it on an empty stomach.

Can you drink silver tea instead?

In Sweden silver tea is water and sugar, so no. But I can drink limited amounts of black tea and also herbal teas.

Best of luck! I hope the diet shakes comes in several flavours so you'll at least have some variety in your diet.

Yep: vanilla, chocolate, chocolate and orange (very nice), mint chocolate, strawberry, cappucino (haven't tried, but I am curious), banana, vegetable soup (okay) and chicken soup (made me feel sick, but it may not be the soup).

Well reasearch is a good reason and the results may help other people.

And you maight be able to keep the weight off once it's lost too.

Best of luck with it

I'll be here, cheering you on! Very soon I will be joining you on my own diet and can keep each other motivated to continue on!

Good!
This far I haven't felt hungry, but I have the typical pressure you get over the forehead the first day(s)when you're fasting, and I feel slightly sick at times.
I also like the sweet shakes much better than the soups.
