frualeydisI also got the fabric for my first victorian dress (the observant reader will notice the word "first" in the sentence, as in "I will make more than one"...) today. It is a thin white cotton with a pattern of bouquets in lavender. Very pretty. I'm gravitating more and more towards ca 1860 instead of 1850, but there were plenty of flounced skirts then too.
The thing is, it will definitely be a summer dress and we plan to hold the event in october maybe, so that everybody will have time to make their costumes. But maybe some of us will be finished fast and can have a picnic in a park, maybe the botanical garden.
