You ;ppl great!! I have always loved that style of dress. But my ribcage is so deep it ends up looking weird on me. Maybe if I were as talented at sewing as you, I could tweak it enough to get it to wprl fpr me.
Actually I have a very weird ribcage too - it's about 4 inches wider at the bottom than just under the boobs, and if you look at it from teh side it angles out at a 45 degree angle. My ribcage got wider when I was pregnant, liek for every one, but because of my constant arthritic inflammation it couldn't get back and I'm stuck with this shape.
This dress has no real ahaping, since it's stretch velour.
I understand about 'life events' changing a body - because of hpw my dialysis worked, I have even less of a waistline now. Not that I had much before, since my bottom rib and hip bone are so close, but it's worse now.
Would you be willing to send me a copy of your pattern? I really don't have a lot of experience drafting armscyes since I was doing so many detachable sleeves and gussets. :) I'm thinking I would love a dress just like yours in green (or maybe black for non Holidays) Or is it from a pattern I can get in the states?
