I finished the mock-up, put some boning CF and CB and tried it on. It was NOT a success. First of all, it turned out to big. I don't know how that happened, but it was the same with the 1901-corset. It had a waist measurement of 82 cm when it should be 75. But it's not only that, it didn't seem to give me much of a waist. Of course it was hard to lace with so litte boning, but still.
I will make a mock-up of the Lavinia H Foy corset that [livejournal.com profile] jenthompson used and then I will decide which I like best. Putting in gores is such a pain, as I was reminded of while sewing this, so I hope the Foy-corset works out.

The Foy corset looks really good - I had that problem with the last one I made, it almost made me *less* curvy than usual. (It was from Corsets and Crinolines, from 1886 I think).
