Today I went to Borås and saw two exhibitions at the Textile Museum. One, which ends on sunday, was on (mostly female) underwear from the 18th century and til today. I saw some cool 18th and 19th century corsets and some other cool stuff. They also had an exhibition on folk costumes that was really nice. Then I looked at some lovely turn of the century dresses at their permanent exhibition. I was a good girl at the museum shop an only bought 3 metres of ribbon and 7 postcards. then I went to Knalleland the shopping area outside the centre of the town. I found a pink damask curtain at the Salvation Army's second hand shop for c. 5 $. Then I went to a store called Furulunds which has a pretty good selection of silk dupioni, some silk satins and even some silk damasks. I bought 70 centimetres of a red/black shot dupioni for the sleeves for my flemish gown. Then off to Saxylle the wool factory outlet where I was extremely good and only bought fabric from the 1,5$ per metre rolls, 7 metres (or there about, their metres are always very long) of dark navy very thin wool and 7 metres light grey thin wool to use as lining. I also ran into a woman from the SCA-group in Göteborg there, so I got company on my way home on the bus.

And BTW, where do you live?

I'm going to Göterborh this summer. Gustafs Skål is involved in an even at Gunnebo slott the first weekend in July.
