Today I put the two kirtles, ie the top fabric and the lining, together. Now they just need to hang for a week or so, to see how much they stretch, since pieces that are cut on the bias are attached to each other. I also sewed the extra interlinings for the bottom of the kirtle together.
I also covered my ironing board with new fabric, since the old fabric which probably was from the 50s, this is an old wooden ironing board, was very fragile and was tearing everywhere.
Now I'm very tired and I've been relaxing in front of the TV with my husband, watching the men's semifinals in the European Curling Championship.
Tomorrow we will clean the house and decorate it for christmas.

I've been meaning to do that for over a year now. Especially since the near-fire a few months ago when I left the iron face-down on the board and the scorching got right through several layers of fabric and was working on the ironing-board cover (I noticed yesterday that there's now a hole in part of the scorch-mark)
My ironing baord is one of those metal-mesh ones. It's virtually impossible to get a 'solid' one in the shops these days and, while it's nice that the steam can penetrate right through the board an' all, it's really irritating if you have to press heavily on something because the mesh-pattern transfers itself to the fabric you're ironing.
I've been informed that several extra layers of pad will prevent this and, guess-what, I haven't gotten around to investing in the extra padding either - probably because I know that the extra layers will increase the size of the board to the extent that the current (shop bought) cover will no longer fit and I will then have to get around to making a new one.
Well done!
