I apparently should have thought about it longer, because new and better names keep popping up:
So, the revised version
1. Benjamin "Hawkeye" Pierce in M*A*S*H. He's witty, charming, sarcastic, caring and a dedicated pacifist. I've been in love with him since I saw the show the first time.
2. Wolverine, both the comic book version who I also loved during my teens and the movie version.
3. Lazarus Long, from more than one Robert Heinlein book, but mostly Time enough for love. Everybody has sex with him so it must be good ;)
4. Faramir, but by God not the movie version. I didn't like what they did with his character, nor the way he looked.
5. Gawaine, the medieval, not the modern versions.
6. Blue from "Moonheart" and "Spiritwalk"
7. Jeremiah from the comic with the same name. And I don't know why, but it was one of my favourites as a teenager.
8. Jared the Goblin king from Labyrinth. Who wouldn't?
9. The character played by Rutger Hauer in "Ladyhawke", don't remember his name.
10. Rhett Butler from "Gone with the wind"
BTW, I think it should be the character and not so much how the actor looks in his role in a movie or how he is as person, so no Luke Perry for his good looks (yes, I know I've given you even more reason to throw things at me now)or Mr. Spock because of Leonard Nimoy's involvement in the peace movement. It's the fictional characters.
