I'm going to buy a new sewing machine today. or not really new, it's c. 30 years old and used, but is served and has new parts and probably should be good for another twenty years. It's a brown Husqvarna 2000, a newer version of the machine I already had. The next model, the 6570, is a little more advanced and I like it a lot, my mum used to have one, but it's 500 kr (c. 60 $) more and I don't need those extra features anyway.
it makes me really happy, because I have plans for a new skirt and jacket (mundanes).
It's not so good for my economy, but hopefully we can manage anyway.

I think a sewing machine must count in under essential must-have's. At least for people like us. I inherited my grandmother's Bernina from the Sixties and I love it. My "old" one was new when I bought it, but it never worked well for me.
