Now would Silk Twill like that be way stronger when sitting at the waist of an effigy corset??? What I mean is, would it be as likely to start pulling as dupion is?
Since it's blouse weight I would advise against using it, twill also has too much elasticity for my taste to use in a corset. I think this fabric is best for medieval stuff, with the soft flowing lines. Silk poplin or broadcloth would probably be the best choice if you want silk. I used thin taffeta on my effigy corset but I haven't worn it enough to know if it would tear.
I haven't worn it a whole day yet, so I have no ides. The differnec is that the taffeta is just used to cover the corset, no boning channels are sewn through it and mayb that means that it take sless strain. I don't know, and if I don't gain a lot of weight, which I don't plan to do, it isn't likely that I ever will know.
