Finished drawers
Feb. 10th, 2005 10:53 pmTonight we had a very nice get-together with parts of the Gothenburg victorian enthusiasts. You see, Myra's and mine rather vague plans about something victorian has become a discussion list of people who want to arrange a victorian event. Most of us live in Gothenburg, but some in Stockholm and a couple on Gotland. Quite a lot of us were involved in the same SCA group back in 1993 and I really like to do something with these people again, as well as with new people. We ate soup from yellow peas, which is traditional to do on thursdays in Sweden. Then we looked at books and pictures and discussed the theme of the event, whether we should adopt "personas" etc. The results will be brought to the list for further discussion. While doing this I sewed on my drawers and they are now finished. I might add two pin tucks at the bottom of each leg as decoration in addition to the lace, but I don't know. The drawers have a fairly broad waistband and are buttoned with three very simple cloth buttons of a type that was used to button underclothes at least in the beginning of the 20th c. I don't know if they were available in the 1850s, but it is likely.
Anyway, I think they look pretty, but Karin declared them "very un-sexy".
